Patricia Sheran-Diaz, RN, a University Hospital nurse and Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Healthcare Florida member, will participate in an important White House outreach initiative on the H1N1 virus on Friday, May 8, 2009 from 12:15pm-1:30pm.

The town hall, which will be open to press and broadcast on Univision, is part of an outreach effort to ensure the community gets accurate information about this public health concern, which will be important both in the remaining days of this pandemic, as well as to maximize preparation for whatever the next public health challenge will be.

The panel will include Spanish-speaking Administration representatives from involved agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Labor and the White House.  Univision’s weekend anchor, Edna Schmidt, will moderate, and Univision will air segments of the town hall on several national news programs, reaching an estimated 13 million viewers.   See release from The White House Office of Media Affairs below.
